Zoë completed her BSc (Hons) in Entomology at the University of Pretoria in South Africa working on honey bees, Apis mellifera. She is studying towards her MSc, by exploring the development of hypopharyngeal glands in honey bees and the feeding behaviour of small hive beetles, Aethina tumida in honey bee hives in South Africa.
She has recently joined the Pirbright Institute as part of the Entomology Group. Zoë is a research technician being trained in Culicoides taxonomy to identify biting midges found across the United Kingdom.
