Soapbox Science London

28 May, 2016 to 28 May, 2016

Join Dr Veronica Fowler and Daisy the Cow at Soapbox 2016

Join Dr Veronica Fowler, from The Pirbright Institute this weekend as she takes to her Soapbox on London’s Southbank to showcase her science and explain how her research helps protect animals from foot-and-mouth disease and other viruses.

Speaking as part of Soapbox Science, which is taking place on Southbank (Gabriel’s Wharf) on Saturday from 2-5pm, Dr Fowler will be joined by Daisy the cow, and will be looking for brave volunteers to don protective clothing and help her tackle a suspected virus outbreak on the farm!

Dr Fowler will be joining dozens of other female scientists along the Southbank, who all hope to enthuse the public about their research, as part of Soapbox Science. The annual event aims to eliminate gender inequality in science by raising the profile, and challenging the public’s view, of women and science.  For more details visit the Soapbox Science website.
