Privacy statement

If you apply for a position with The Pirbright Institute we will only use the information you provide to us for purposes to assist in the recruitment and selection process. In line with UK & EU Data Privacy Legislation, the information that you supply about yourself is known as your ‘personal data’ and includes general details about you like your CV and contact details. In some cases we may ask for more detailed information such as any criminal convictions or your ethnic origin, which is referred to as 'sensitive personal data' and categorised as ‘special category data’ under the Legislation.

Our Privacy Notice provides clear information on how we process and safeguard your personal and sensitive information which you provide us when considering a role at The Pirbright Institute. Please read the notice if you would like to know more details about what data we take, why and how this will be used. Your personal information will be used for the purposes of recruitment and selection, which may include us contacting you about other opportunities which could be suitable to your skills and experience.  Should you be unsuccessful in this application your details will be retained for no more than 12 months or deleted sooner if you request.
