Jack is undertaking a PhD in the PRRSV immunology group under Prof. Simon Graham and Dr. Jane Edwards

His research focuses on the impact of PRRSV infection on porcine B-cells, utilising techniques such as flow cytometry and spatial biology using the Miltenyi Biotec MACSima imaging platform in collaboration with APHA.

Jack’s work aims to develop an antibody panel targeting porcine lymphoid cell markers and using the MACSima platform to visualise effective and dysregulated immune responses to PRRSV and Classical Swine Fever virus infection.

Jack graduated from the University of St. Andrews with an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and a Masters by Research. Jack’s previous research focused on generating optimised T-cell antigens from Human Cytomegalovirus proteins for use as potential future vaccine candidacy and enhanced diagnostic monitoring.
