Dr Shivankari Krishnan
Shivankari did her Master’s degree in Biosciences from the University of Leeds.
She later completed her Ph.D in Immunology from the National University of Singapore, where she worked on development and characterization of human monoclonal antibodies against Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Her research interests and expertise include monoclonal antibody discovery, antibody engineering and characterization for prophylactic and diagnostic purposes.
She joined the Institute’s Immunological toolbox group in February 2024 and was working on research projects involving antibody engineering, studying their Fc mediated functional profiles, Fc receptor interactions and their clinical relevance. She later joined the PRRS Immunology group in April 2025.
Her current research focuses on isolating Nipah virus specific human monoclonal antibodies and evaluating the DNA-encoded Nipah virus vaccine and therapeutic monoclonal antibody candidates in preclinical animal models.
