Between 29 June – 1 July, The Pirbright Institute will be leading the Global Alliance for Research on Avian Disease (GARAD) inaugural conference, creating global partnerships to bring together the academic community and poultry industry.
A ceremony to celebrate one of the most prestigious and important European prizes for invention has taken place, and The Pirbright Institute’s Professor Luke Alphey was there as one of fifteen finalists recognised as one of Europe’s top innovators.
The European Inventor Award organised by the European Patent Office (EPO) celebrated its tenth anniversary. The event took place on 11 June at the Palais Brongniart, the historic Paris stock exchange.
Scientists from Pirbright are heading to the Royal Society’s Summer Science Exhibition in London this month to showcase new developments in the global fight against influenza virus. Flu Fighters, a collaborative exhibit with The Roslin Institute at The University of Edinburgh, highlights the science behind the different approaches being used to control and combat this highly contagious disease at two of the UK’s leading Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) Institutes.
