PhD student Caroline Wright, based at our Pirbright Laboratory, has won a prize at the biannual UN Food and Agriculture Organisation's meeting of the EU Foot-and-Mouth disease Commission, this year held in Austria. Caroline won the prize for her presentation 'Can next generation sequencing be used to unravel fine scale FMDV population dynamics?' The IAH is the FAO's World Reference Laboratory for foot-and-mouth disease (FMD), one of 10 international Reference Laboratories located within the Institute.
