Pablo Relucio is a MSci Biotechnology student at University of Aberdeen, currently undertaking an industrial placement year at The Pirbright Institute. Working within the Immunogenetics team, he will be studying the peptide repertoire presented by cattle MHC-I molecules.
With his project, Pablo aims to investigate how the cell’s processing of self and viral peptides may bias the repertoire which ultimately reaches the cell surface. This is of great interest for the development of more efficient vaccines in addition to improving our understanding of immune cell interactions.
During his year in Pirbright Institute, he will gain valuable laboratory and bioinformatics experience, while he gets a taste of what academic research is ahead of his final undergraduate year.
