Dagmara completed her MSc in Molecular Virology at the University of Gdansk, working on bovine herpesvirus 1 (BoHV-1). She then undertook a postgraduate internship at the BSL-3 laboratory of Military Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology in Poland.
In 2010 she moved to Germany and joined the international Hannover Biomedical Research School (HBRS) as a PhD fellow, working on human herpesvirus type 1 (HSV-1).
In 2016 Dagmara joined Dr Holly Shelton’s Influenza Viruses Group at Pirbright to carry out the research on antiviral drug resistance mechanisms of avian influenza in a high-containment ACDP3 facility.
