Beth Johns

Beth obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Human Biology from Oxford Brookes University.  She worked as an Assistant Scientific Officer at the Animal & Plant Health Agency (formerly Veterinary Laboratories Agency) in the Pathology department, performing histological techniques and immunohistochemistry on diagnostic samples for diseases such as bovine spongiform encephalopathy, scrapie, chronic wasting disease, feline spongiform encephalopathy, tuberculosis, avian influenza, West Nile virus. 

She has experience working to ISO9001, ISO17025, Good Laboratory Practice, and has performed a Quality Assurance role with all these standards.  Beth is currently working within the Diagnostic Development Team as a Commercial Diagnostic Scientist, validating and developing diagnostic ELISA kits for foot-and-mouth disease and peste des petits ruminants.
