The flow cytometry facility at The Pirbright Institute provides state-of-the-art instrumentation, services, education and consultation services. It specialises in sample preparation, acquisition, sorting and analysis of biological samples from farm animals. The facility can also process and analyse infectious biological samples in a high containment environment.
The aim of the core flow cytometry and cell sorting facility is to provide expertise in preparation, acquisition, separation and analysis of cells to internal and external scientists. The facility is supported by internal and external funding and provides unparalleled equipment in low and high containment environments.
Flow cytometry and cell sorting resources are partly funded by BBSRC’s Advanced Life Sciences Research Technology Initiative grant BB/L014203/1.
