Research services apprentice

The successful applicant will achieve a broad understanding of laboratory manager in a class II and high containment context, including health, safety and biosafety issues. Will be proficient in basic tissue culture techniques, basic flow cytometry and bio imaging techniques (preparation of samples for analysis including immunofluorescence and staining for cellular or viral markers, preparation of general laboratory reagents) and will gain scientific equipment database management training.

The research services department at The Pirbright Institute provides a direct interface with the science users. The capability is made up of three teams, laboratory management, stores and central services, delivering a number of key services to the scientists.
